Marquette University Golden Angels Network Angel Investor Network
Angel investing has long been an important source of financial support and mentoring for new and growing businesses bridging the gap between individual (friends and family) and institutional venture capital rounds of financing. Over the past several years, Marquette University Golden Angels Network and this sector of the private capital market has been formalizing in response to both growing demands and complexity.
Marquette University Golden Angels Network - The Kohler Center for Entrepreneurship was founded in 2000 with a grant from the Kohler Company.
The Kohler Center believes that entrepreneurial wealth creation serves the community through not only economic benefits but also growth in community and service. It is our goal to create for students and entrepreneurs within the Marquette family a positive orientation toward the art of the possible. We do this by helping each person acquire a personal collection of knowledge, experience and personal contacts.
Knowledge begins in the classroom. Through a broad selection of graduate and undergraduate courses, our faculty begins the process of transferring knowledge and creating new ideas.
In our graduate program, daily responsibilities in companies help students hone experience-based skills and classroom reflection adds clarity. At the undergraduate level, spiritual exploration into the possible along with internships with businesses lay the foundation for early professional work experience.
The Marquette Golden Angels network provides the basis for building networks of contacts beyond school and classmates, and reinforces, strengthens and validates classroom and work experiences.

WI Angel Networks are as unique as the private investors that make them up. Marquette University Golden Angels Network is a group of accredited investors (sophisticated investors) who get together to review companies for potential investment. The investments can be made by accredited individuals belonging to the WI network or by the network itself as a limited partnership.
Some angel networks charge a fee to the entrepreneur for the business plan to be reviewed, or for an in-person presentation to be made to the "angels" group and other angel networks don't.
